MINES TRACK TO TRANSFER

Mines Track to Transfer is a conditional acceptance given to transfer applicants who do not yet meet our preferred admission criteria but we feel are on the 鈥渞ight track鈥 and would be a great fit at Mines.

As such, we offer an opportunity to join our Mines Track to Transfer and enroll at Mines for a future term upon the condition that the applicant completes additional coursework at their current educational institution or transfers to a Community College in Colorado with whom we have transfer agreements.

The student agrees to work on coursework that meets our preferred criteria of admission and guaranteed to transfer to Mines as part of our core curriculum.

PATHWAYS

Pathways is a conditional acceptance given to first-year applicants from Colorado who do not yet meet our admission criteria to head to Mines directly after graduating High School. Rather than deny these applicants, we provide an opportunity for them to enroll at Mines in two years after having completed additional coursework at one of our partner community colleges in Colorado.

The student agrees to work on coursework that meets our preferred criteria of admission and is guaranteed to transfer to Mines as part of our core curriculum – outlined in the Associates of Engineering Science degree (see transfer agreements).

MINES ACADEMY

The Mines Academy program helps you plan and complete prescribed coursework designed for a smooth transition to Mines to earn your bachelor鈥檚 degree. Through the Mines Academy, you can complete the equivalent of the first two years of most majors at Mines at a reduced cost through the Associate in Engineering Science transfer degree..听

Colorado Community College Transfer

Mines partners with Colorado community colleges to create transfer pathways into engineering and science majors at Mines. Through articulation agreements, transfer students can complete equivalent coursework for Mines required core curriculum at most Colorado community colleges. Details of our Articulation Agreements can be found on our Office of the Registrar鈥檚 Transfer Agreements page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which courses I need to complete prior to enrolling at Mines?

Our Transfer Enrollment Coordinator will work with you to help determine the best courses for you to complete to ensure a strong foundation for the fast-paced and rigorous coursework you will encounter at Mines, as well as courses that will guarantee to transfer to Mines. Do I need to transfer to a CCCS school or can I continue taking courses at my current institution?

You are welcome to attend any accredited college or university of your choice.听 We do, however, encourage students who are from Colorado, currently attending a college or university in Colorado, or considering moving to Colorado to strongly consider transferring to a community college in Colorado due to our articulated agreements and availability of guaranteed transferable and applicable coursework that is outlined.听 Visit our community college info page to learn more.
