What's Happening in Residence Life?
First-Year Housing Application – Opens April 1 at 10:00AM MST
The First-Year Housing Application opens on April 1 at 10:00AM MST for incoming, first-year students and transfer students for the 2024-2025 academic year. The application is in the Housing Portal, which is linked in students’ Trailhead accounts and my.mines.edu accounts.
Students will not have access to the Housing Portal until they have submitted their Admissions Enrollment Deposit (or waiver) and it has been processed. Please allow a few business days for your deposit to be processed.
The housing application is divided into 3 phases, and the first phase of the application is available to students beginning April 1 through May 19. Applications are NOT processed on a first-come, first-served basis; there is NO NEED to rush to start your application on April 1. If you are still waiting for your deposit to be processed once the application goes live, that’s okay!

Summer Housing Application – Opens April 1 at 10:00AM MST
The Summer Housing Application opens on April 1 at 10:00AM MST for current Mines students who plan to complete summer coursework after the Spring 2024 semester concludes this May. Students will be housed in Weaver Towers and are required to commit to a minimum of a 3-week stay. The application is in the Housing Portal, which is linked in students’ Trailhead accounts and my.mines.edu accounts.
Students who require housing for Summer Session I must complete their Summer Housing application by May 1. Students who require housing for Summer Session II must complete their Summer Housing application by June 1.
Students who will move to Summer Housing from their current Residence Hall or 1750 Jackson assignment will be granted an extension for their move-out. These students do not need to vacate their current assignments until their summer assignments are ready.

Spring Closing – Move-Out Processes
Spring Closing is right around the corner! Over the next several weeks, students will receive information and instructions regarding the check-out process for when their community closes in May. This information will be provided to students via email, digital signage in their buildings, and their Resident Advisors who will host mandatory community meetings.

Our communities close on the following dates:
Residence Halls (Elm Hall, Maple Hall, Spruce Hall, Weaver Towers, and The Trads)
Friday, May 10, at 12:00PM MST sharp
All students must move out by this deadline (unless they are moving to Summer Housing).
1750 Jackson Street Apartments
Sunday, May 12, at 12:00PM MST sharp
All students must move out by this deadline. Students participating in Summer Housing will be required to move as soon as their Summer Housing assignment is available.
Mines Park Apartments
Friday, May 31, at 12:00PM sharp
Students who did not renew their Mines Park contracts or who are ineligible to renew their contracts must vacate by this date.
